Crawler

CluesiaBot

Why CluesiaBot visited your website, what it does, and how to stop it. This page is available in English only.

What it is

CluesiaBot is the crawler of Cluesia, a service of Ignion Apps (Rajkot, Gujarat, India) that tests websites for accessibility problems (WCAG 2.1 AA and EN 301 549, the technical side of the European Accessibility Act). In your server logs it identifies itself as:

CluesiaBot/1.0 (+https://cluesia.com/bot; [email protected])

Why it visited your site

A scan starts in one of three ways:

  • someone entered your web address in our free accessibility checker;
  • you, or a web agency working for you, ordered a report or monitoring for your site from Cluesia;
  • we scanned the public pages of your company ourselves to prepare a sample report, which we then shared with your company.

What it does, and does not do

  • It reads only public pages, the way a visitor’s browser would, and stays on your own website.
  • It follows your robots.txt file.
  • It waits at least three-quarters of a second between requests to your server and scans a limited number of pages.
  • It does not log in, fill in or submit forms, change anything on your site, or test for security vulnerabilities.

How to stop it

Add this to your robots.txt file and CluesiaBot will not scan your site:

User-agent: CluesiaBot
Disallow: /

Or write to [email protected] with your domain name. We will stop scanning it and delete the results we saved for it.
